Bigger Than Me And My Insecurity

First of all I would like to share this story with you...

This week I received a message from the LFC supporters club in New Zealand. They reached out to me to share a story about a little girl called Saoirse. Right now Saoirse is fighting for her life, she is five years old and has been diagnosed with stage 5 cancer. Saoirse’s parents, David and Sylvaine are doing everything they can to get her the best treatment and give her the best chance of survival, she has got a minimum of 8 months of serious treatment ahead of her. Their story is extremely moving and of course I was more than happy to help any small way I could – donating shirts signed by my teammates and sharing her story. The emotional and financial drain this is causing the family is hard to fully comprehend. So to gorgeous little Saoirse and her family, I am sending you my strength and love, stay strong.

Go to this link to read more about Saoirse and to help.

I certainly felt this was a great reminder stop and appreciate my own situation.

Stop, forget about your own insecurities and accept yourself for being you. It’s the only way you can better the world. What does it take to get to a level where there is no one that will make you nervous? A level of self acceptance where you are so sure of yourself and who you are that nobody can make you doubt yourself. That’s the level I want to get to.

“Cool means being able to hang with yourself. All you have to ask yourself is ‘is there anybody I’m afraid of? Is there anybody who if I walked into a room and saw I’d get nervous?’ if not, then you’re cool” – Rolling Stone, 1990

My friend asked the question: How are you going to make a dent in the Universe? This quote epitomises what came to my mind.

“Don’t ask yourself what the world needs. Ask yourself what makes you come alive and then go do that. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive.” – Howard Thurman

My summary: Cool is a level of self-acceptance that does not know insecurity, it is a spirit that brings one alive.

It can be as simple as a beautiful sunset that makes me feel alive

I am almost ready to launch my website www.whiterosenewzealand.com I hope this will inspire more consistent and concise posts, updates, stories, art, and sale items. Here is a preview of what it is all about…

White Rose is the expression of a creative spirit that has lay dormant in me for my entire life. This project is the result of my efforts to both fuel and release the part of me that has been neglected and share it with the world.

White Rose is an artistic platform that has been designed to spread great initiatives, support amazing causes, and showcase creative work. Using natural and organic materials, the artwork sold through White Rose is handmade and limited edition. For every piece that I sell, I pledge to publicly donate a large portion of the proceeds to the charity or cause that has inspired that particular design. If you are one of the people out there making positive contributions to improve and restore our plant, then you my friend, are my motivation.

White Rose is allowing me to create something bigger than myself. I have often used creativity as an escape or a portal into this universe that enables me to physically stop moving. This transition into a limitless world is so much greater than me and my bubble-wrapped reality. Join me on this journey to create, to inspire, and to make a dent.
